Hi, I'm Myron Kandel, head of New Hampshire's Initiative for Corporate Responsibility and Investor Protection.
I'm here at Daniel Webster College in Nashua. We're about to begin the first program in our series of interviews with the major Presidential candidates in cooperation with New Hampshire Public Television.
Our focus will be on business ethics, along with corporate responsibility and investor protection - issues that are vital to the health of the nation's economy and the welfare of the American people.
But as important as these issues are, they have never been dealt with at any length during previous Presidential campaigns. Our goal is to change that. My contention is that anyone who aspires to be President of the United States should be able to discuss how to keep companies on the straight and narrow and how to protect the interests of the nation's investors. And these days, most Americans are investors, either directly in the stock or bond markets or indirectly, through pension funds, mutual funds and other ways.
I am pleased to have as my first guest Mike Huckabee.
